The Past & Present collide in a montage of vintage elements, semi-precious stones & the new. The Atelier creates "one of a kind" Jewelry Art which celebrates the past with a modern twist.
Atelier is the French word for "workshop" or "studio", used by an artist or designer. This special space for creating, becomes a sanctuary for the artist, it is set a side from the regular world , so that inspiration is unhindered. Trained originally as a painter and sculptor, I found that jewelry was the marriage of the two mediums; the love of "color and light", joined to, "form and texture".
So began my search for a style that created a tension between the grit of industrial object and something refined like gemstones. I also wanted to use my love for antique/vintage jewelry but to take it out of its idiom and expand it a bit with industrial, tribal, and modern references. This was a happy collision of sorts, as using vintage jewelry as a resource , I was also helping the planet by sourcing materials that were already produced and could be given a second life, thus reducing carbon foot print.
It's my hope that the art that goes into the jewelry will inspire the muse in you, to celebrate the "one of a kind" masterpiece that you are.

Atelier Lulu is my paradise of a Seattle based workshop business. I can't remember a time I wasn't doing art, creating, exploring.
Artisitic process is incredibly fluid, curiosity opens the door for multi media explorations. Through the years I've had lots of cross over experiences, where painting joined with object, or those morphed into costumes for SF dance companies, or more recently became jewelry. I love the Artistic journey, I feel most alive when I am creating!
